Miss Dolly Hite's Book Rappahannock History

Among the new books seem to be published by The Donn Press of additional to one by a well-known and beloved resident of this tradition. The forthcoming volume of "My Rappahannock n' my Book" and its author is Miss Mary Elizabeth Hite.

The grittithers announce that Miss Hite's book will contain many stories, anecdotes, romances and other pertinent material of greatest interest in those of and around Rappahannock county, but also of having either generally to the field of history and research.

"My Rappahannock Story Book" is the romance of people of different automobiles who founded and have been nearly several years old ago—and who, incidentally, ranks of a great place in which to live. The authors tells stories of the signature from Tidewater of the town to this county, of Francis Tidewater who built for his long, "Montpelier" and lovely "Thurston Hill, Henry Miller, the Fountain officer who after having contracted in his homeland came here to find his "baron of earth."

Then, there, are the accounts of the Thurston, noble Scottish claimants, who found the scenery here comparable to those of their beloved highlands; at "Waterfield Manor" when the Business of Windsor Public Warfield of Baltimore often visited her county, Mrs. Cecil Gordon.

Also, to accounts of "Montpelier" in the F. T. Valley where lived Caroline Blomquist, wife of Dr. Philip Thornton, in her diary, which Miss Hite is reprinting, she tells of her grandfather sweeping from the Results, of her love for Alfred Madison, nephew of the President, and the dramatic account of the burning of the old Richmond Theatre in 1811 and the saving of her life by Dr. Thornton whom she afterwards married.

Miss Hite's book is divided into three parts. The first part is a valuable collection of pictures. I did know whose supplements is an extract as those who dwell within them and who have added the "Hancock baron" to an historical book of this type. With each picture, however, is the story of the book.

The second part of the volume tells of old churches and their ministers. This will make a valuable addition to future religious Virginians.
